Blessed Beyond Belief!!

I just got back from my second bridal shower and I am SO overwhelmed with everyone's generosity! This shower was put on my dear friends, Cindy Peters and Amber Linz. Right from the moment I walked in, it took my breath away. I have never seen such a wonderful shower, let a lone one planned just for me!

The room was packed, I think there were close to 100 ladies there, no joke! I cannot believe how many people came to support me and Dustin! I cannot say enough how blessed that I truly feel! It was so wonderful to see EVERYONE from several groups together all at once! I wish I had more time to speak to everyone who came. All I can say is that I have a LOT of thank-you notes to write!

AND... what a treat it was to get a gift from Christina Strot who couldn't even be at the shower!! To Christina: that was so sweet and thoughtful of you! I can't believe you had that planned since August! I can't wait to use it :)

I will be posting some photos of the shower in a bit... stay tuned! Love you ALL!

NEXT MONTH!

I can't believe that I am officially getting married next month.... I realize its only May 1st, but still! Next month is June, and I am getting married on the 20th! Mom and I had our final meeting with David at Richfield Floral and Events.... I LOVE David! Everything is going to be so beautiful because of him and his team... he is a creative genius!

I'm TRYING to put the table numbers together, but my printer is being such a pain. First it was like nothing was working right with the paper size, then it seemed the printer wouldnt talk to my computer, and NOW, its out of colored ink. Hopefully I can get something figured out tomorrow.

I am also working on wedding day timelines and responsibilities for people so we all can be prepared and organized that day. AND, my second shower is coming up on Tuesday!!! I cannot wait, I am so excited! I have finally talked Dustin into coming to the shower towards the very end.... he has been practicing his excited face. I think he is scared to be the only male in a group of over 60 women... its going to be crazy!

AND my suitcase for the honeymoon is getting more and more full... I found some swimsuits, flip flops, tank tops, and shorts to pack! I am very excited if you cannot tell... ;) Well, time for bed.

Good Night!

A New Love for Aprons

Well, I had my first bridal shower yesterday afternoon! It was put on for me by my wonderful family on my dad's side. It was PERFECT! I had so much fun seeing my cousins, aunts, great-aunts, friends, grandma, and moms :) It was truly a blessing.
The theme was "aprons" and it was just perfect! I officially have 4 aprons now, two of them are from my grandma! How cool. Grandma read a reading about the history of aprons and what they really mean....
I don't think some kids know what an apron is. The principal use of Grandma's apron was to protect the dress underneath. Because she only had a few, it was easier to wash aprons than dresses and they used less material, but along with that, it served as a potholder for removing hot pans from the oven.

it was wonderful for drying children's tears, and on occasion was even used for cleaning out dirty ears. From the chicken coop, the apron was used for carrying eggs, fussy chicks, and sometimes half-hatched egs to be finished in the warming oven.

When company came, those aprons were ideal hiding places for shy kids. And when the weather was cold, grandma wrapped it around her arms. Those big old aprons wiped many a perspiring brow, bent over the hot wood stove. Chips and kindling wood were brought into the kitchen in that apron.

From the garden, it carried all sorts of vegetables. After the peas had been shelled, it carried out the hulls. In the fall, the apron was used to bring in the apples that had fallen from the trees. When unexpected company drove up the road, it was surprising how much furniture that old apron could dust in a matter of seconds.

When dinner was ready, Grandma walkd out onto the porch, waved her apron, and the men knew it was time to come in from the fields to dinner. It will be a long time before someone invents something that will replace that old-time apron that served so many purposes.

Grandma used to set her hot baked apple pies on the window sill to cool. Her granddaughters set theirs on the window sill to thaw. They would go crazy now trying to figure out how many germs were on that apron! I don't think I ever caught anything from an apron, but love!!
The shower was just so great! Thanks to everyone who put all of your hard work into it just for me!! I love you lots!

Fun Days... Making Progress...

Believe it or not, i'm starting to pack for the honeymoon :-) Actually, its just that I left my suitcase in my room from my January trip to Cancun and just haven't put it away. SO, I started going through my summery clothes and started picking ones out and putting them inside the suitcase so I know generally what I will be bringing and what I need to buy still.

I've gotten a few new things, like some cute tops and shorts my mom bought for me (love her!), and I got a new swimsuit and tan shorter skirt to wear when walking around town or wherever were going. I also picked out a lotion/shower gel/body splash set from Bath and Body Works and have that in there as well. There are still a few more things i'd like to get... like some cute sundresses and maybe another suit and some new flip flops (the real good squishy ones from J.Crew!)

I just had some breakfast on this lovely Saturday morning and i'm about to meet Dustin at the gym for a workout. Then I might go tanning again... then mom and I are getting mani-pedi's... she scheduled it on her own for the two of us for my first shower this coming Sunday!! I can't wait for tomorrow! Although i've got to admit that opening presents in front of people is not my favorite thing; im always worried they will think i'm not excited enough or something. I am really just excited to see my family again and celebrate with them.

First Shower Next Week!

We are getting closer and closer to the wedding! I can't believe I have my first shower next week already. My wonderful aunts and cousins are throwing me a family shower for my dad's side. It will be so good to see everyone before the wedding and catch up with people. Mom and I need to go shower outfit shopping again....

I found a pink dress from J.Crew and a gray one from the same place... I'm thinking the pink dress might be for the church shower in May, and the gray dress might just be for the rehearsal. The pink one poofs out a teeny bit, so I was worried that Dustin might think its weird, but I tried it on for him and he liked it a lot! Good to go! Now I just need to find shoes and jewelry to match for both! Let me know if you have any ideas. Here is a picture of one of the dresses... although the one that I got is a lighter pink than this... the color didn't show up online, it must be sold out. Send me jewelry and shoe ideas!!! I can't find a picture of the gray dress. Maybe it will show up later.

I also got the wedding picture of Dustin's parents and grandparents to go on our heritage table...just something fun for people to look at and help keep people entertained during the punch time. I think it will be really cute!

I need to stop eating my Easter candy (yes, i still get an Easter basket every year from my parents... it will stop once Dustin & I have kids... after a few years anyways). I have a dentist appointment tomorrow at 7:00AM... ewww.

Good Night!
